Parents often ask about whether or not a child with PANDAS should receive their vaccinations. The advice from the Children’s e-Hospital is to vaccinate your child in the normal way but to manage any flares in symptoms using short term anti-inflammatory treatment. The consequences of not immunising your child could be significant, so in our opinion it is better to immunise and control any symptoms that arise than to not immunise.
