Coronavirus & asthma

14th March 2020

If your child has asthma & starts to develop symptoms of coronavirus you may need to increase the amount of relief medication (blue inhaler) and preventer medication (usually inhaled steroids) whilst you arrange a medical review with your GP or paediatrician. You should have instructions of what to do with emergency medication in your treatment plan and you should follow this. Do not wait to get a review if your child’s symptoms escalate irrespective of whether or not they have symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
